Hello and happy New Year! It’s Will here, back behind the Ops Director’s Desk.
This is always a great forum to announce new content and technologies from Global eTraining, but I wanted to take this issue to reflect on my favorite things from the past year and ask, ‘Did you know about this?’.
The ‘GeT Everything’ Library
To say that we added content to our library last year is a bit of an understatement. We continued to build out our Autodesk software skills library with the introduction of Advanced Workflows. We added many professional skills, management, and OSHA safety courses to our library through several exciting new partnerships.
The new content highlight of 2022 for me was the introduction of our COBie. IFC & Classification for Revit courses, presented by Graham H. Stewart of Digital Guerilla. These courses guide learners through the steps required to implement BIM and Information Management and to understand what digital deliverables clients are now demanding at handover. This is really exciting and timely content.
Of course I must thank our whole team of SMEs who continue to add, expand, and elevate the content in our ‘GeT Everything’ Library.
‘The Generator’ Custom Course Builder
Our industry leading knowledge capture tool – ‘The Generator’ – has seen so many advancements I can barely keep up! We’ve invested significant time over the last couple of years in adding functionalities that further support the educators, managers, and custom training creators of the team.
It’s easier than ever to import videos, PDFs, PowerPoints, and other training resources into ‘The Generator’. Doing so allows trainers to leverage their existing training resources, and to publish the content on any number of Learning Management Platforms. The best part is that any updates or changes made to the content will always be seen by the learner, without the need to re-administer content packages.
Hands down, my favorite update from 2022 is the ability to screen capture from within ‘The Generator’ itself, and to create high-quality captions and transcripts.
Honorable mention goes to how easy we’ve made it to customize and brand your training to reflect your company. It’s your training, it should look like it!
‘GeT Your Badge’ Badging Solution
Have you earned a badge of completion from one of our Autodesk courses?
Well, many have, and we are just getting started! Our badges conform to the OpenBadge 2.0 standard, they are sharable on socials, viewable in your virtual backpack, and they look great on a resume. Collect ‘em and flex ‘em!
GeT Insights Knowledge Gap Assessments
So you’re an expert, are you? Prove it, with our knowledge gap assessment engine, GeT Insights. What makes this solution so powerful is the immediate Custom Learning Path which is generated from the knowledge gaps that are identified.
Knowledge gap assessment and instant remedy? Pretty slick if you ask me.
‘GeT Know-How’ Autodesk Plugin
Although the ‘GeT Know-How’ Plugin has been around now for several years, it has never been more valuable a resource. You can access and progress through your courses, or use ‘reactive mode’ to contextually filter training from directly within the software itself!
Did you know that your custom training content can be included into a custom version of the Plugin? Imagine your team having access to our ‘GeT’ training, customized with your proprietary knowledge, workflows and access to resources and customizations. How powerful does that make your team?
Really powerful.
What’s Next?
As big as 2022 has been, we expect an even bigger and brighter 2023. How we do that relies, in great part, on our partner’s feedback.
What do you like? What don’t you like? What do you need to elevate your team? What training content are we missing? Reach out and tell me. I love to hear all feedback from our partners, and want to hear from you!
Wishing you all the best for 2023. May your learning be lifelong.
Will.
